Midlands Golfing Circuit

Whether it is a day out or a few days touring the Midlands, there are several superb courses within an hours drive :  Sakabula Golf Course, Victoria Country Club, Noodsberg Country Club and St Cathryn's Golf Estate being the most popular courses to play.

Wild Animals

As soon as you enter the farm, you are entering a private 120ha wildlife area.

Look out for the Giraffe "Big Boy II" and his single friends "Miesies"the
Ostrich, "Blessy"the Blesbok, also 2 small herds of Impala, 3 Zebra and a small herd of shy Nyala.  Listen to the abundant birdlife and see how many species you can spot and identify.

Recently spotted but rarely clearly photographed, is a single Waterbuck.  This magnificent creature doesn't hang around, so wildlife enthusiasts may want to set up a hide and hunker down.  Perhaps you'll be one of the first to photograph our still unnamed beauty.

An owl box has been erected at The View for the Barn Owls and we hope to encourage a breeding pair to start nesting in it.

The bats around the farm are mostly the migratory Egyptian Free-Tailed Bat and they are

perfectly harmless.  We welcome these beauties as they keep the night insects at bay.

You may see and/or hear the Black Backed Jackal at night, and if you are very fortunate,

a  juvenile Karakal, and "Squeeze" a relatively young Rock Python.  She/He too is illusive, and although s/he has been spotted, none of our Guests have managed to photogrqph him/her.

In addition to the wildlife, we have the company of 6 dogs and a cat, so regrettably we

cannot allow additional furry friends at The View Garden Cottage.  If you would

like your fur baby to accompany you on holiday, they are most welcome at The Cottage and Maflutes, by prior arrangement.  While our dogs are friendly, they are guard dogs and our Guests need to be dog friendly.

It is quite safe for guests to walk around the farm, and they are welcome to take "Jock" the Jack Russell for a walk. Guests should just remain aware of where they are walking and keep eyes

on the paths. Walking sticks/poles are available.
